Porn Star Says Charlie Sheen Hid HIV Status

LOS ANGELES (CN) - Charlie Sheen's ex-fiancée claims in court that he did not tell her he was HIV positive until after they had sex several times, forced her to get an abortion, and was physically abusive to her.

In a lawsuit filed in Los Angeles Superior Court Dec. 3, Scottine Ross, a porn star who used the name Brett Rossi, said that Sheen's "physical, psychological, and emotional torment" caused her to go into "an emotional tailspin and become extremely depressed," to the point where she tried to commit suicide.

Ross first met the actor in November 2013, when she went to his house to have sex with him for $10,000, she says.

She was allegedly forced to sign what she now characterizes as an unenforceable non-disclosure agreement by one of Sheen's associates before actually meeting him. Ross, who was 24 at the time, says they hit it off that evening and began spending a lot of time together.

"Within weeks, plaintiff fell in love with Sheen and believed Sheen fell in love with her," the complaint says.

The pair had sex at least five times before Ross discovered the medicine Truvada, which treats HIV, in his bathroom, she says.

Ross says if she had known the actor was HIV positive, she never would have slept with him the first time and the resulting relationship would never have occurred.

After a "heart to heart" talk with Sheen, in which the actor professed to be "devoted to her" and "ready to settle down with her," Ross decided to continue the relationship, she says in the complaint.

However, Ross, who quit nursing school at Sheen's urging, soon discovered that the actor would "drink in excess" and become violent, abusive and uncontrollable, the complaint says.

Sheen one time locked Ross in the bathroom and interrogated her as to how many men she had slept with, and on another occasion dragged Ross out of bed by her arms "and began violently shaking her while screaming obscenities at her," the complaint says.

Ross accepted Sheen's marriage proposal in early 2014, but told him they would have to wait to actually get married until she was done finalizing her divorce from her first husband, the complaint says.

When Ross refused to hand over her husband's phone number, Sheen "became enraged and began screaming obscenities at her," she says.

"Sheen then flipped a coffee table over in plaintiff's direction, narrowly missing her. Sheen then pushed plaintiff into a corner, continuing to scream at her. It was at this point that Sheen took a swing at plaintiff, attempting to punch her," the complaint says.

Sheen told Ross several times that he wanted to put a "hit" on her husband, and Ross found messages on Sheen's phone indicating that he had followed through on his threats, the complaint says.

"When plaintiff confronted Sheen, Sheen locked plaintiff in a room for hours, screaming at her and telling her that she was 'fucking stupid' for involving herself in the matter. Sheen also told plaintiff if the 'hit' was ever traced back to him that he would tell the police that plaintiff was the one who ordered it," the complaint says.

Ross claims that when she told Sheen she was pregnant in March 2014, he forced her to have an abortion because he did not want to have a child that was HIV positive.

"When plaintiff told Sheen that she did not want to have an abortion, Sheen erupted into a fit of rage, stating he would 'kick her to the curb' if she did not have an abortion, and that he did not want her 'to give birth to a retarded child.' After much pressure and threats, plaintiff had the abortion," the complaint says.

Sheen allegedly continued to emotionally and physically abuse Ross throughout the remainder of their relationship. During one incident, Sheen threatened to kill Ross, slammed her to the floor and put her into a choke hold, she says.

In another alleged incident, Sheen pointed an unloaded gun at Ross and repeatedly pulled the trigger, despite the fact that she was crying and begging him to stop.

The relationship ended without warning when Sheen broke up with Ross via text message, Ross says, leaving her "devastated because she believed that, despite all they had been through, she and Sheen had a very serious relationship."

"As a result of the physical, psychological, and emotional torment that she had been subjected to, and then to have Sheen abruptly end the relationship with her without explanation, plaintiff went into an emotional tailspin and became extremely depressed and ultimately attempted to commit suicide," the complaint says.

After her failed attempt, Sheen sent Ross a text that read, "'[f]unny how an ex-nursing student couldn't calculate the appropriate dosage of a vintage drug such as valium to successfully kill herself," the complaint says.

Ross filed her lawsuit one day after Sheen allegedly reneged on an agreement to pay her $1 million and earnings from his canceled TV show, "Anger Management," to settle her claims.

Ross, who is represented by David Ring with Taylor & Ring, seeks punitive damages.

The former "Two and a Half Men" star publicly disclosed that he was HIV positive on the "Today" show last month, but claimed to have told all of his sexual partners about his status.

Sheen also said during the interview that he would not pay to settle any claims from sexual partners claiming he exposed them to the virus.

Sheen's attorney, Martin Singer, said in a statement that Sheen "intends to vigorously defend the lawsuit."

"We are confident that Mr. Sheen will prevail in this action and will prevail on his claim for affirmative relief against her," Singer said.
