WASHINGTON - Victims of the AdSurfDaily and other Internet-based Ponzi schemes will soon recover $55 million in forfeited funds, the government said Monday.
AdSurf Daily founder founder Thomas A. "Andy" Bowdoin Jr., of Quincy, Fla., was indicted last year on various counts of fraud. He is awaiting trial after pleading not guilty to all seven counts for conduct alleged to have occurred between 2006 and 2008.
"The indictment alleges that Bowdoin ran a Ponzi scheme disguised as an online advertising company that drew in large numbers of investors by promising huge returns on their monies," according to Washington prosecutors.
They added that victims can get more information by calling 1-800-644-1535 or mailing Basizette Stribling, Victim Witness Assistant, Re: AdSurf Daily, United States Attorney's Office for the District of Columbia, 555 Fourth Street NW, Washington, D.C. 20530.
