Police standoff

SHERMAN, Texas — A federal court in Texas declined to dismiss a homeowner’s suit against the city of McKinney arising from damages to her property after a police standoff with a fugitive. When the fugitive refused to leave the home, officers broke down the front and garage doors and ran over the backyard fence with a tank-like vehicle.
