Police Say Student Made Terrorist Threat

ST. LOUIS (CN) - A 17-year-old high school student has been charged with making a terrorist threat: police say he threatened to go on a shooting spree at a neighboring high school. Franklin N. Avila, an Affton high school student, emailed the threat against Lindbergh High to the Suburban Journals newspaper the day after a gunman killed five people at a nearby Kirkwood City Council meeting, according to the warrant.

"Wait til March first at lindberg (sic) high I will shoot that bad boy up," Avila allegedly wrote in the e-mail. "I plan to kill at least 45 people this time haaa Hitler." Police say Avila said the threat was a joke, but he was suspended from Affton and allegedly threatened an Affton principal.
