Police Parody

CINCINNATI - A fake Ohio city police department Facebook page qualifies as parody and is protected speech, the Sixth Circuit ruled. Although several city of Parma citizens were confused by the page, a “reasonable reader” would have known that the page was not actually run by the department.   

The page creator shared posts that upset some viewers, such as an advertisement for a “Pedophile Reform event,” where pedophiles would receive an honorary police commission.
