SAN DIEGO — A California appeals court upheld the city of Calexico’s decision to fire a police officer for using excessive force to arrest a woman. The officer shoved the handcuffed woman into the back of a cruiser, injuring her nose when it hit the back seat, used discourteous language toward her, and lied during the police department’s investigation of the incident.
