Police beating

SAN FRANCISCO — In a case relating to the police beating of Dacari Spiers, a federal court in California granted in part Spiers’ motion for sanctions against the city and county of San Francisco for withholding evidence of interviews with certain officers during Spiers’ civil suit, which was settled for $700,000. The defendants must pay $2,300 to Spiers’ attorneys for work done to obtain the evidence after the settlement.
