Plea deals

HARRISBURG, Pa. — An appeals court in Pennsylvania tossed the life sentence of a woman convicted of murdering her newborn baby, finding counsel should have advised her to accept a plea deal with a much lower sentencing range if she admitted to being guilty to third-degree murder but mentally ill.
