Planned Parenthood secures injunction

BOSTON — A federal court in Massachusetts granted Planned Parenthood’s emergency motion for a preliminary injunction against a Trump action that prohibited the group, among others, from receiving Medicaid funds for one year. The provision targets certain clinics that receive $800,000 or less each year in Medicaid and are affiliated with Planned Parenthood, but does not impose similar restrictions to non-affiliated clinics that otherwise meet those criteria. Because it encourages members to disassociate from Planned Parenthood, the policy is unlikely to survive strict scrutiny review.
