Pit Bull Breeder Challenges State Law

OKLAHOMA CITY (CN) - Oklahoma and Oklahoma City enforce an unconstitutional law that prohibits dog kennels within 2,500 feet of public or private schools, or day-care centers, in cities larger than 300,000, a pit bull breeder claims in Oklahoma County Court. Kenneth Gonzales claims SB 1754, signed into law on June 6, was aimed, illegally, at operations such as his, which is within 2,500 feet of a Catholic school.

Pit bulls are also called American Staffordshire terriers.

Gonzales is represented by Michael Homsey.
