Photographer Says Oakland Cops|Arrested Him To Stifle Reporting

OAKLAND, CALIF. (CN) - Oakland cops illegally arrested and threatened a photographer for the Oakland Tribune to prevent him from reporting on the Police Department's slow response to emergencies, Raymundo Chavez claims in Federal Court.

Chavez sued the city, its police chief and two officers. He demands compensatory and punitive damages for civil rights violations. He is represented by Terry Gross with Gross Belsky Alonso of San Francisco.
