(CN) – Music producer Phil Spector was sentenced Friday to 19 years to life in prison for the 2003 murder of actress Lana Clarkson. A Los Angeles jury convicted Spector, 69, of second-degree murder in April for fatally shooting Clarkson in his Los Angeles mansion on Feb. 3, 2003. The two met earlier that night at a Hollywood nightclub. Spector must serve at least 19 years behind bars before he’s eligible for parole. The legendary producer has worked with artists such as The Beatles, Cher and Leonard Cohen.
