HARTFORD (CN) - A pharmacy and its former owner will pay $1.1 million for bilking the state Medicaid program, the Connecticut attorney general said Tuesday. Roy D. Katz had his now-bankrupt RG Pharmacy convert 30-day prescriptions into four 7-day prescriptions to bill Medicare and Medicaid for four dispensing fees instead of one.
Katz pleaded guilty Tuesday to vendor fraud, a misdemeanor, and was sentenced to 2 years in state prison, suspended, the attorney general said. Katz's pharmacy was in Manchester.
