Pfizer’s Anti-Smoking Drug Chantix|Causes Depression & Suicide, Class Claims

E. ST. LOUIS, ILL. (CN) - Pfizer pushed its anti-smoking prescription drug Chantix (varenicline) without warning customers it could cause "depression, aggression, suicide, suicidal ideation, and suicidal tendencies," a class action claims in Federal Court.

Plaintiffs claim that "through a series of fraudulent schemes Pfizer implemented its calculated and deceitful marketing campaign ... prior to U.S. Food and Drug Administration approval of Chantix."

Plaintiffs' lead counsel is Lloyd Cueto of Belleville, Ill.
