Pfizer’s Anti-Smoking Drug Chantix|Causes Depression & Suicide, Class Claims

      E. ST. LOUIS, ILL. (CN) – Pfizer pushed its anti-smoking prescription drug Chantix (varenicline) without warning customers it could cause “depression, aggression, suicide, suicidal ideation, and suicidal tendencies,” a class action claims in Federal Court.

     Plaintiffs claim that “through a series of fraudulent schemes Pfizer implemented its calculated and deceitful marketing campaign … prior to U.S. Food and Drug Administration approval of Chantix.”
     Plaintiffs’ lead counsel is Lloyd Cueto of Belleville, Ill.
