WASHINGTON (CN) - Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice and the Broadcasting Board of Governors maliciously abused their power by firing "one of the best translators in the [Voice of America's] Persian Service" for appearing in a video calling for peace in Iraq, Melodi Navab-Safavi claims in Federal Court.
Plaintiff claims the defendants violated her constitutional rights and fired her illegally because they thought the video in which she appeared was "anti-American."
She also claims she was fired because she is Iranian,Navab-Safavi is represented by Richard Salzman with Lerner, Simon & Salzman
