Perez Hilton Lobs Lawsuit In Gossip War

LOS ANGELES (CN) - Celebrity snoop Perez Hilton claims two women swiped his name to compete with him unfairly on their own celebrity gossip site, www.perezrevenge.com. Mario Lavandeira aka Perez Hilton says he "has no issue with legal competition, [but] he will not tolerate defendants' intentional and blatant attempt to unfairly profit from the time and energy he has invested to develop those marks."

Lavandeira sued Elizabeth Silver-Fagan and Margie Rogers in Federal Court.

He cites this posting on their Web Site, from the "about us" section: "If you couldn't tell by the name, various lawsuits have been filed by a certain individual who shall remain nameless (fill in the blank_______), based on defamation of character and slander. Are you serious? 'Don't dish it, if you can't take it, my friend'. (sic)"

Lavandeira demands an injunction and damages for unfair competition, false designation, dilution of trademark, deceptive trade and other charges. He is represented by Bryan Freedman.
