Pennsylvania added to SNAP suit

SAN FRANCISCO — A federal judge allowed Pennsylvania to be included in a temporary restraining order blocking the the federal government from withholding funding from 21 states that refuse to provide the personal information of people who receive benefits from the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP). The states argue that the Trump administration is trying to build a database of people’s information to target immigration. A hearing is scheduled for Oct. 9, 2025, to determine whether a preliminary injunction is warranted in the case.
