Peanut Poisoning Cases Continue

ALBANY, Ga. (CN) - Three more federal claims have been filed here against the Peanut Corp. of America. These plaintiffs, from three states, also sued Kellogg Co., claiming family members were hospitalized with salmonella poisoning after eating Austin brand peanut butter crackers, in two cases, and Keebler brand peanut butter crackers in the other.

Kellogg recalled those crackers and others on Jan. 16, according to the complaint. One plaintiff family, from California, says their child ate Austin crackers on Christmas, became sick on Boxing Day, and was hospitalized from Jan. 1-5.

An adult plaintiff, from Massachusetts, says she ate the Austin crackers on Jan. 3 or 4, got sick on Jan. 5, was hospitalized from Jan. 14-22, and still is sick from it.

And a family from New York says their daughter ate Keebler crackers on Oct. 18, 2008, got sick the next day and was hospitalized from Oct. 23-26.

All the plaintiffs are represented by Patrick Flynn with Flynn Peeler & Phillips.
