MANHATTAN - "Boardwalk Empire" star Paz de la Huerta says in court that she suffered permanent injuries when a stunt driver for a film drove into her in 2011.
De la Huerta filed the suit against Lions Gate Films and others Tuesday, nearly three years to the day since the Oct. 15, 2011, accident on the set of "Nurse 3D."
During filming in Toronto, an unnamed stunt driver was operating an ambulance for a scene when he allegedly struck de la Huerta and knocked her to the ground.
"Nurse 3D," which featured de la Huerta as the lead actress, had a limited theatrical release to mixed reviews this past February.
De la Huerta - whose most famous role, Lucy Danziger, was written off HBO's "Boardwalk Empire" in 2012 - says she required surgery after the on-set injury.
She appeared in "Nurse 3D" as part of a contract with IV3d Productions, which "loander [her] out" to Lions Gate, according to the complaint.
De la Huerta seeks unspecified damages from Lionsgate, production executive Marc Bienstock; executive producers Michael Paseornek and John Sacchi; director Douglas Aarniowski; cinematographer Boris Mojsovski; and stunt coordinator Layton Morrison.
IV3d Productions is not named as a defendant. De la Huerta is represented by Michael D'Agostino with Becker & D'Agostino.
