Pause extended on Nexstar-Tegna merger

SACRAMENTO, Calif. — A federal court in California extended the temporary restraining order on a merger between Nexstar Media Group and Tegna for another seven days to provide more time to determine whether a longer preliminary injunction is needed. The order is also modified to allow Nexstar to take reasonable steps to maintain Tegna’s day-to-day operations and to establish a functional governance structure for Tegna, which owns 68 TV stations in 54 markets.
