President Donald Trump's former campaign chairman Paul Manafort is one step closer to being released from house arrest after putting up enough property to satisfy a $10 million bond.

WASHINGTON (AP) — President Donald Trump's former campaign chairman Paul Manafort is one step closer to being released from house arrest after putting up enough property to satisfy a $10 million bond.

Barring a paperwork issue, U.S. District Judge Amy Berman Jackson said Friday she will allow Manafort's release from his home in Virginia where he's been confined since his Oct. 30 arrest.

Manafort and longtime associate Rick Gates face several felony charges brought by special counsel Robert Mueller. The charges stem from their political consulting work in Ukraine

The judge is allowing Manafort to live in his home in Florida and come and go while he awaits trial. He will remain on GPS monitoring and have to get court permission to travel outside two south Florida counties. He also will have a curfew.
