Applied Surgical claims Styryker Corp. stole trade secrets to defraud it by misappropriating its "Gemini System," which integrates surgical devices through a central control unit, in Jefferson County Court, Ala.

Minerva Industries claims the Apple iPhone uses its patented technology. Also in Marshall, Texas, Federal Court, Minerva sued Research in Motion and Cricket Communications; and Motorola, Nokia, Sony and most other major cell-phone makers, also on patent claims.

HyperQuest claims N'Site Solutions based its N'Solutions insurance processing software on HyperQuest's eDoc Express program, in Chicago Federal Court.

DataCard Systems claims Codonics violated its patented "System and Method for Producing Medical Image Data onto Portable Digital Recording Media," in Santa Ana, Calif., Federal Court.
