Pastor Called Fraudster

RALEIGH, N.C. (CN) - Jeremiah C. Cummings, an alleged pastor and head of Amazing Life Christian Outreach, a putative nondenominational church, defrauded people of more than $425,000 in "a well-designed scheme of deception and lies," two plaintiffs claim in Wake County Court.

Elsie Carter and Ronald Daryl-Jones claims Cummings ran the game while living with an unmarried lover whom he falsely presented as his wife. The plaintiffs claim that Cummings persuaded them and other to give "substantial sums of money to Amazing Life Outreach Church," but took the money for himself.

They sued these defendants: Jeremiah C. Cummings, Amazing Life International Fellowship Inc. fka Amazing Life Christian Outreach Inc. dba Amazing Life World Outreach, Worldwide International Campaign for Christ Inc. fka Campaign for Christ Inc., and Messiah Records International.

Plaintiffs demand damages for fraud, breach of contract and RICO violations. They are represented by Alvin Matthews of Fayetteville.
