Parents Sue School for Coach’s Porn Texts

RIVERSIDE, Calif. (CN) - Parents say a high school football coach in Corona texted their 13-year-old daughter nude photos of himself, a pornographic video, and a video of himself masturbating.

The Morris family sued Corona-Norco Unified School District and Christopher Carter, who they say "used his position as assistant coach of the freshman football team of Centennial High School to gain access to and sexually abuse" the girl in July 2010.

The Morrises say Carter called their daughter and used "sexually explicit language," and sent her text messages with "sexually explicit material, including, but not limited to, the following: descriptions of sexual activity; requests for sexual intercourse and other sexual contact; nude photographs of himself; a video of pornography; and a video of himself masturbating."

The parents say the school district "had actual or constructive notice" of Carter's propensities "for a sufficient time before July 26, 2010, to have taken measures to protect against the risk involved."

Carter was arrested and pleaded guilty to three counts of harmful matter sent with intent of seduction of a minor, according to the complaint.

The family seeks damages for medical expenses and punitive damages for "great pain of mind, body, shock, emotional distress, physical manifestations of emotional distress, embarrassment, loss of self-esteem, disgrace, humiliation, and loss of enjoyment of life."

They are represented in Superior Court by Roland Bainer with Clayson, Mann, Yaeger & Hansen in Corona.
