OAKLAND, CALIF. (CN) - Because her 6-year-old child threw a temper tantrum over some crayons at his elementary school, Vallejo Police officers removed the boy from a child seat in his mother's car after the school day ended and took him in a squad car to a Kaiser hospital, where he was restrained, injected with Ativan without the knowledge or consent of his parents, say the parents in Federal Court.
The child was then transferred to St. Helena Hospital without their consent, and held there against his will and theirs for two days, the parents claim in Federal Court. They sue the hospitals and the City of Vallejo on civil rights charges.
