WILMINGTON, DEL. (CN) - Parents say their daughter died because the University of Delaware allowed an expelled drug-dealer to enter her dorm and provide her with the cocaine and Fentanyl that killed her. They say one reason they sent their daughter to the University of Delaware is that is touted its "'nationally renowned' security system."
The parents say the dealer, (nonparty) Kevin Hamilton, had been expelled and barred from campus for his drug dealing, but continued to return to campus, and deal drugs, in defiance of a no-trespass order. They say Hamilton was "charged and convicted of Death by Delivery of a Controlled Substance."
The parents of the late Laura Marie Shanks are represented by Philip Finestrauss in New Castle County Court.
