Parents Blame Hospital Construction for|Fungal Infections That Killed 3 Children

TAMPA (CN) - Three children died because St. Joseph's Hospital negligently let fungus stirred up from construction work infest its pediatric oncology ward, the parents claim in Hillsborough County Court. The parents claim aspergillus and bipolaris fungus invaded their children's already compromised immune systems.

The construction work was done near the pediatric oncology ward in early 2008, the parents say. They are represented by B. Steven Yerrid.
