NEW HAVEN (CN) - Mario Martis awoke one morning from uneasy dreams to find "his body was submerged in raw sewage." Martis, tenant of a basement apartment in New Haven, says the "massive sewage backup" gave him chills, nausea, vomiting, swelling in his upper body, a permanent scar, "shock to his nervous system" and "associated pain and suffering."
Martis sued 456 Lombard LLC in Superior Court.
He seeks damages for medical care and pain and suffering.
Martis says the experience "imposes a severe limitation on his ability and capacity to carry on and enjoy all of life's activities in the same manner as he did prior to the incident."
He says he suffered the revolting experience on Jan. 19, 2008.
Martis is represented by Vanessa Wombolt with Kinney, Secola & Gunning.
