Pardoned Politico Says He Can’t Be Punished

FRANKFORT, KY. (CN) - A former Kentucky Cabinet officer who was indicted for ethical violations, then pardoned by Gov. Ernie Fletcher, has sued Kentucky's Executive Branch Ethics Commission, which he says is trying to penalize him again for the actions for which Fletcher pardoned him. Richard Murgatroyd, one of 15 members of Fletcher's administration who faced charges of cronyism, was deputy secretary of transportation from January 2004 until February 2005. See complaint.
