Pacific Island Will Share|U.S. Immigration Laws

WASHINGTON (CN) - U.S. immigration laws will be extended to the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands, Nov. 28, according to the Department of Justice.

The U.S. territory has administered its own immigration system for 33 years.

The department believes the change is necessary to ensure effective border controls.
