Ouch!

LAS VEGAS (CN) - A pain in the neck turned into two punctured lungs when a Las Vegas woman sought treatment from a pain-treatment specialist, she claims in court.

Siobhan Tumbleson sued Centennial Pain Relief Network and Dr. Zachariah Chambers, in Clark County Court.

Tumbleson claims she saw Chambers at his office on June 19, 2013 for pain in her neck and back.

She says Chambers prescribed two trigger point injections, on either side of her scapula, to relieve the pain.

Tumbleson claims the doctor inserted the needle too deeply both times.

Soon after receiving the shots, Tumbleson says, she "complained of shortness of breath" and was taken to nearby Sunrise Hospital.

An X-ray showed a single puncture wound in each lung, and doctors took her into emergency surgery to insert a chest tube into each lung. Doctors released Tumbleson on June 28, she says, but she still has to seek treatment for her condition.

Tumbleson seeks general damages in excess of $10,000 plus special damages to be proven at trial.

She is represented by Brian K. Harris, with Harris & Harris.
