OSHA Plans to Improve Workplace Info on Chemical Hazards

WASHINGTON (CN) - The Occupational Safety and Health Administration plans to modify its existing Hazard Communication Standard to conform with the United Nations' global standards, to reduce the incidence of chemical-related occupational illnesses and injuries.

The revised system would revise the criteria for classifying chemical hazards, use standardized signal words, pictograms, hazard statements, and precautionary statement on labeling, and require that data sheet follow a particular format.
