Oregon Wants To Kill 200 Cougars

PORTLAND, ORE. (CN) - More than 200 cougars will be killed - 41 percent of the Oregon population - if Oregon Wildlife Services and the U.S. Department of Agriculture are allowed to proceed with their plan, according to a suit filed in Federal Court byenvironmental groups andranchers who oppose the killing.Lead plaintiff Goat Ranchers of Oregon says the Oregon Cougar Management Plan was drawn up and approved without a proper environmental impact statement.
