Opioid Litigation

The Pennsylvania Manufacturers' Association Insurance Co. sued North Carolina Mutual Wholesale Drug Co. in federal court, claiming it has no duty to indemnify or defend the wholesaler, which is facing 69 opioid lawsuits in Ohio, 56 of which were brought by counties in North Carolina.

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — The Pennsylvania Manufacturers' Association Insurance Co. asked a federal judge to find that it has no duty to indemnify or defend North Carolina Mutual Wholesale Drug Co., which is facing 69 opioid lawsuits in Ohio, 56 of which were brought by counties in North Carolina.
