BRIDGEPORT, CONN. (CN) - A class action negligence complaint claims Bank of New York Mellon Corp. lost confidential electronic financial data on 4.5 million customers of People's United Bank when the records fell, or were lost or stolen, from a truck.

Courthouse News is not posting a link to this Superior Court complaint because the unofficial copy provided on Tuesday was scheduled to be filed today (Wednesday). The Connecticut attorney general's office reportedly estimated that 4.5 million customers' data may have been compromised.
