MARSHALL, Texas (CN) - The Bravo cable channel, and more than a dozen others, violate patent by posting recipes on their websites, including recipes from the hit show "Top Chef," an Austin company claims in Federal Court.
DietGoal Innovations claims that the interface on the Bravo website infringes on its patented "method and system for computerized visual behavior and planning."
On the same day in the same court, DietGoal filed 14 other patent complaints against other website operators, including Tyson Foods, WebMD, Whataburger, Allrecipes.com, ConAgra Foods, Scripps Network, Nutrisystem and Nestle USA.
DietGoal seeks damages for alleged violations of its "computerized meal planning interface."
It claims that "exceptional circumstances" entitle it to "reasonable" attorneys' fees.
Top Chef began in 2006. It latest season featured Texas. Austin chef Paul Qui was declared the season winner in March.
Bravo is represented by Niky Bukovcan, with Beuther, Joe and Carpenter, of Dallas.
