One Man, One Vote

SAN MARCOS, Texas (CN) - A man claims Hays County miscounted the votes in an election on whether to create a Municipal Utilities District, and he can prove it - because he was the only eligible voter.

Michael Salenko says he voted in favor of creating the defendant Hays County MUD No. 6, and voted for all 5 candidates for its board, but voted against "the imposition of a maintenance tax at an unlimited rate."

Nonetheless, he says, the MUD reported a tie vote - 3-3 - on whether to create the district, and a 0-7 tally against the maintenance fee.

Can't be, Salenko says. He seeks declaratory judgment.
