‘Oh, Great Brown Dude’

WORCESTER, Mass. (CN) - A man claims a strip-club employee sucker-punched him in the head, made him "pay homage" in a bathroom by getting on his knees and saying, "Oh great ... brown dude, oh great ... brown dude," and then took $300 from him as a "sacrifice."

Patrick Blanchard sued Premier Club Enterprises dba Platinum Premier Gentlemens Club, of Worcester, and its employee Easton Byfield in Worcester County Court.

Blanchard claims that Byfield "demanded that the plaintiff accompany him to the men's room in the club," where Byfield accused him, falsely, "of selling drugs to the girls in the club." Blanchard says he denied selling drugs, but acceded to Byfield's demand that he empty his pockets.

Byfield, who was accompanied by an unidentified man, "sucker punched" him twice in the head, then hit him twice more in the head, Blanchard says.

Then, according to the complaint: "Byfield ordered the plaintiff to his knees and demanded he pay homage to him by bowing and reciting the words, 'Oh great ... brown dude, oh great ... brown dude.'

"Afraid for his life and humiliated, the plaintiff complied.

"The defendant Byfield then stole the sum of $300 which he had removed from the plaintiff's wallet, declaring that the money was his (the plaintiff's) 'sacrifice.'" (Parentheses in complaint.)

Blanchard adds: "The attack and robbery were filmed by the third, unknown person in the bathroom. The plaintiff is of the belief that the other person was an employee of the defendant club. ...

"At some unknown time the video was posted in the Internet and has now been viewed hundreds of thousands of times, causing the plaintiff extreme embarrassment, humiliation and severe emotional distress."

Finally, Blanchard says, Byfield had the brass to file a false police report, accusing Blanchard of attacking Byfield in the bathroom, "and omitting any reference to the robbery of the plaintiff's money or the attack on his person."

Blanchard seeks punitive damages for assault and battery, false imprisonment, defamation, privacy invasion, conversion, civil rights violations and other charges. He is represented by Edward Ryan Jr. of Fitchburg.
