Off-Duty Cop Says He Was Beaten|After Paying $100 To Sing Karaoke

SAN LUIS OBISPO (CN) - Bouncers at a Pismo Beach Nightclub assaulted an off-duty LA police officer and his wife after the man paid a waitress $100 to be allowed to sing a karaoke song to his wife for their wedding anniversary, the couple say.

Claude Le Blanc claims he paid a waitress at Harry's Night Club and Beach Bar $100 for permission to sing to his wife on their 21st anniversary. Le Blanc says the occasion never arrived and the waitress was avoiding, so he asked for his money back. At that point, he says, he was set upon by bouncers, who socked his wife in the chin when she tried to help him.

The Le Blancs demand punitive damages for assault and battery and negligence. They are represented in Superior Court by Rochelle Evans Jackson of Orange.
