Obscenity Indictment|Hits Secret Service

(CN) - A federal grand jury on Wednesday indicted a Secret Service officer most recently assigned to the White House on one charge of attempting to provide obscene materials to a minor.

Lee Robert Moore, who was assigned to the White House at the time of his Nov. 9 arrest, has been held in custody ever since. The two-page indictment includes a bid for 37-year-old Moore to forfeit an iPhone 5 and iPhone 6, plus one Dell and one HP desktop.

Prosecutors say Moore, of Church Hill, Md., maintained a profile on the social media app Meet24, a mobile-platform for exchanging digital images, as well as voice and text messages.

Detectives with the Delaware Child Predator Task Force created a profile on this site, posing as a 14-year-old girl, with whom Moore allegedly engaged in a number of online chat sessions, via the Meet24 and Kik mobile apps over a two-month period -- including while the Secret Service agent was at work.

A number of the online chats allegedly between Moore and the supposed female minor were sexual in nature and, on several occasions, Moore allegedly sent pictures of himself, including one depicting his penis, the government says.

This case was brought as part of Project Safe Childhood, a Justice Department initiative to combat child sexual exploitation and abuse.

Eleni Kousoulis, an assistant public defendant assigned to represent Moore, declined to comment on the case.
