NYPD Cop Could Get Life in Prison

MANHATTAN (CN) - Former New York Police Officer Juan Acosta pleaded guilty Monday to extortion and conspiring to deal cocaine, federal prosecutors said. Acosta worked for the NYPD, most recently in the Bronx, from 2000 until he was arrested in December 2009. Acosta, 34, faces up to life in prison at his July 22 sentencing.
