BROOKLYN — New York City Mayor Eric Adams sued the state's Campaign Finance Board on Friday, claiming it illegally withheld $4.7 million in public matching funds last week over failure to provide requested information and suspected campaign misconduct. It's the second time Adams has sued the CFB during his independent reelection bid for mayor as the board previously denied him about $3.5 million in public matching funds, which in New York award an extra $8 for every $1 contributed by a New York resident. Adams claims his rejection was based "solely" on a federal bribery charge that was dropped by the Department of Justice in February, but a federal judge tossed his first lawsuit against the CFB in July, citing the mayor's late response to a request for information.
