Not a county resident? No standing to sue it

DETROIT — The Michigan Court of Appeals tossed a citizen’s complaint alleging Genesee County unconstitutionally filled the position of clerk-register after the previous clerk stepped down. The woman is not a resident or taxpayer of the county, and because she does not have a personal stake in the outcome of the suit, she lacked standing to bring her Michigan Election Law claims.
