Northwest Workers Want $75 Million

MEMPHIS (CN) - Laid-off customer service workers demand $75 million from Northwest Airlines and the International Association of Machinists & Aerospace Workers, in a federal class-action complaint.

Plaintiffs claim their union told them not to accept lower-paying jobs when they were fired and replaced. They claim the union won a grievance, then reimbursed workers who had ignored its advice and took the lower-paying jobs, but left people who had followed orders out in the cold. See complaint.
