Nonprofit May Take Attorneys’ Fees

WASHINGTON (CN) - The Legal Services Corporation, which helps low-income people with legal needs, has repealed its regulatory prohibition on taking attorneys' fees under federal and state law permitting or requiring the awarding of such fees.

This action is taken in accordance with the elimination of the statutory prohibition on attorneys' fees in the agency's fiscal year 2010 appropriation legislation.
