SAN FRANCISCO (CN) - The U.S. Department of Energy plans to open a Biosafety Level 3 facility to work on biological weapons projects at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory without proper environmental review, the nonprofit watchdog Tri-Valley Cares claims in Federal Court. It says the experiments will involve exposing lab rats to airborne toxins, endangering millions of people who live in the area already contaminated by defendants' radioactivity and toxins from other experiments, including anthrax.
