Nobel Goes to Prison

Shrugging off pressure from China, the Nobel Committee on Friday awarded its Peace Prize to Liu Xiaobo, a writer who is serving 11 years in prison, for what the committee called "his long and nonviolent struggle for fundamental human rights in China." The Chinese government calls Liu, 54, a subversive.
