CINCINNATI — The Sixth Circuit upheld the lower court’s decision to dismiss First Amendment claims brought by J.M. Smucker Co. employees, who were denied religious exemptions from the Covid-19 vaccine mandate. Though the company is a federal contractor, it is not a government actor, and “Constitutional guarantees conventionally apply only to entities that exercise sovereign power.”
