No License Needed for Certain Nuclear Samples

WASHINGTON (CN) - The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission has exempted the International Atomic Energy Agency from licensing requirements for the import and export of small samples of radioactive source and byproduct material.

The IAEA routinely moves safeguard samples of such material to its offices abroad from nuclear facilities in the United States.
